NAASC Chicago Chapter

"A Beaming Future" Video Contest

Winners of this contest will be invited to A Crystal Blue Evening 2018 where their video will be shown!

A Crystal Blue Evening is the biennial signature fundraising event of the NAASC Chicago Chapter.  A dinner gala attracting an estimated crowd of 300+ alumnae, friends, and supporters of Spelman College, the evening includes recognition of 3 outstanding alumnae and/or supporters, testimonials by current students and scholarship recipients, an interactive paddle-raise, and culminates in an "everybody-on-the-dance-floor" celebration of all that Spelman College represents.

Our theme this year is “A Beautiful Legacy, A Beaming Future: A Crystal Blue Evening”. We are looking for a visual representation of why supporters of Spelman College should continue to financially support NAASC Chicago Chapter at A Crystal Blue Evening 2018. We would like genuine and creative content that explains why someone should financially invest in your “beaming future”.

Selected participants for this video opportunity will receive one (1) free ticket to

A Crystal Blue Evening 2018 gala on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

What We’re Looking For: One video. 90 seconds.

The window to submit your video will close 5:00 PM (CST) on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Record a 90-second video that shows us who you are, what amazing things you have done/will do while at Spelman College, what you strive to be after your matriculation at Spelman College, and describe how scholarships and mentoring from NAASC Chicago Chapter has or can help you become the woman you are destined to be. Please use the keywords/phrases “beautiful legacy” and “beaming future” somewhere in your video. Videos do not have to be professionally made or edited and can be shot with a phone camera, however videos should be clear, in focus, and well lit.

Higher resolution equals higher quality. Record in the 4:3 standard format or 16:9 widescreen format. If you can record your video in high definition (1280x720 pixels), do it. Also, aim for good audio sound quality. Capture the best you can with the equipment you have. Video applications should not exceed 90 seconds.
