Pandora Media Scholarship

Deadline: August 7, 2019

This scholarship was established in 2018 by Pandora, the leading music and podcast discovery platform and the largest streaming music provider in the United States, to support Chicagoland students attending Spelman College.  The scholarship reinforces the company’s commitment to higher education, a more diverse and inclusive society, and the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities within the United States. Click here to access the application.  

Lois Davenport Fambro Scholarship

Deadline: August 7, 2019

Established in honor of Lois Davenport Fambro (C'30) and her long-term commitment to the NAASC Chicago Chapter. Fambro was a dedicated and steadfast member who demonstrated Spelman Sisterhood in her words and her deeds. Fambro was a key organizer of the NAASC Chicago Chapter as it transitioned from the 'Spelman Club'. An emergency fund exists in her name to assist Spelmanites from the Chicagoland area who have an acute need. Click here to access the application.

Georgia Dwelle Scholarship

Deadline: Every March

Georgia Dwelle (C'1900) was the first Spelman alumna to receive a Doctor of Medicine degree. This scholarship was established to honor Dwelle's tireless commitment to the improvement of women's healthcare in Atlanta and Chicago by assisting young women in their pursuit of an education at Spelman College. An annual scholarship for a minimum of $2000 is distributed by Spelman College to a Chicagoland sophomore, junior, or senior that meets the GPA requirements. Students should contact Ms. Rosa McQuay in the Office of Financial Aid at Spelman College to apply for the scholarship.

Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed Scholarship

Deadline: Every March

This scholarship fund was named in honor of the 6th President of Spelman College and his wife for their dedicated service to the College and their encouragement of alumnae. All NAASC chapters support this fund which provides significant scholarships to Spelman students each year. Students should contact Ms. Rosa McQuay in the Office of Financial Aid at Spelman College to apply for the scholarship.
