Chandra Fitzpatrick, C’2003

Chandra is the Senior Advisor to the president of the American Bar Association, one of the largest associations of lawyers and judges.  At the ABA Chandra is a liaison between officers, members, external organizations and staff. She develops speeches and briefs to ensure that ABA officers are versed in a myriad of rule of law issues and policies. 

Chandra brings more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience to her role joining the ABA in 2010. Prior to it, Chandra worked in advertising and copywriting for WGN news station and the Tribune Media Group.  She created advertising campaigns for an array of businesses including the Chicago Clubs and Blackhawks. Early in her career, Chandra worked on Capitol Hill coordinating government hearings.

Chandra holds a BA in Economics from Spelman, Class of 2003, with a concentration in Marketing and Management Organizations and a MS in Communications and Marketing from Northwestern University, summa cum laude.

Prior to becoming President-Elect, Chandra was chair of the Chapter’s Outreach Committee from 2020-2024, which serves as the liaison between students and alumnae and provides critical support to current students. 

As President, Chandra’s focus is on community engagement, reclamation and retention of Spelman alumnae in the Chicagoland area, as well as fundraising efforts to support Chapter programming and scholarships.
