Recording Secretary

Kim Johnson, C’99

Kim received her B.A. in Psychology from Spelman and Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University. My professional experience includes working within a wide range of institutions of higher education including Spelman College, the University of Michigan, and most recently, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Early in her career, she worked in college as well as boarding school admissions, where she was involved in every aspect of the admissions process from developing recruitment strategies to making admissions decisions.

In her role at UIC’s School of Public Health, she directed five federally funded enrichment programs catering to over 300 undergraduate and graduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Kim is actively involved in her church, The Congregational Church of Park Manor, as well as her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has been involved in the Chicago Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College for the past few years and is excited for this opportunity to further that involvement in her role as Recording Secretary.
